Sweet Digz Farm is a small-scale organic farm in Steveston BC, located on unceded Coast Salish territory.
We farm on leased land where we grow organic veggies for our local Richmond and Vancouver markets, as well as organic seed and herbal medicinals.
We sell our produce May/June through December at our weekly Saturday market, at select Vancouver Farmer’s Markets, and through a 16-week CSA Home Delivery Box Program. We also offer Sweet Digz Bucks, a pre-paid debit card option.
Agriculture is about Community!
We are excited about these partnerships in 2016:
You can find our veggies on the menu at Gudrun Tasting Room, and at our Saturday Market in front of True Conditioning at London Landing, former location of Nirvana Organic Foods (see our Markets page for more on this).
We are thrilled to grow medicinal calendula for Neitra Body Botanicals, a small Vancouver-based company that makes beautiful hand-crafted organic body care products.
New this year, we are partnering with Sapo Bravo Organics in Lytton to offer delicious certified organic fruit from the Fraser Canyon in our optional CSA Fruit Share, bulk orders (for members), and at our markets.
Since taking a lease on additional land in 2016, we are also beginning an exciting new partnership with Figaro’s Garden, a nursery in Vancouver that aims to educate and build community as well as help people plant ecologically friendly gardens. Figaro’s will grow cut flowers at our farm to sell at their store, which means we’ll have their unique seasonal flower bouquets for sale at our market this year (in-season late July-October), and as an optional Flower Share in our CSA!
Sweet Digz Farm and Figaro’s Garden have created Sweet Fig’s Farm Collective and will be selling produce, veggie starts, flowers, bedding plants, compost, and more at various Vancouver Farmer’s Markets.
Triple Bottom Line
At Sweet DIgz Farm, our triple bottom line is” Earth Care, People Care, Community Share”. We are committed to stewarding the land and our diverse farm ecosystem, and growing the healthiest food for our customers. As part of our guarantee to you… and to the earth… we intend to become “Certified Organic” after this year, if our land lease is renewed.
Sweet Digz Farm is owned and operated by Kareno Hawbolt and Kimi Hendess. We have run Sweet Digz since 2010, and have been farming at our current location since 2013. Kareno farmed for many years on Vancouver Island, on Salt Spring Island, and now in her hometown of Richmond. Kimi is a carpenter who has spent recent years’ winter months doing renos or being contracted to build a tiny house… but has many years of growing experience as well. River is our favourite 4-legged buddy who hangs out in the shade while we work.

We look forward to another great season growing fresh, organic, and reeeally local veggies for you!
